December
Monthly Overview
As this Year of Prayer draws to a close, it is important that we REMEMBER what God has done. He is faithful to the prayers of His people. The act of remembrance is something that should be a part of our personal walks with the Lord, as well as being something that we do as a corporate Body. The Bible commands us to remember over 100 times. We are to remember where we came from, who we were, who God is, and what He’s done.
Psalm 77:11-12
11 I will remember the deeds of the LORD;
yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
12 I will meditate on all your works
and consider all your mighty deeds.
As we remember what He has done, let us give THANKS. It’s been said that “while remembering does not guarantee we will be thankful, we will never be thankful unless we remember.” We are told repeatedly in the Bible to be thankful when we pray. We give thanks because of who God is, because of what He’s done. We give thanks because His word is true; it is alive. We give thanks because He is not finished. He will fulfill the promises He has made. Reflect on what God has done for you in the last week, month, year, etc. How can you but give thanks to the One who has seen you through it all? Just as He has been at work in your life, so He has been at work in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Psalm 103:1-5
1 Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
- Pray that the believers would be encouraged by testimonies of what God has been doing this year
- Pray for the spirit of “pressing on” within the churches
- Pray that God would continue to build up His church in BiH, that they would be firmly rooted and established in His love
- Pray for spiritual breakthrough
- Pray that the Church would have vision as we close out 2008 and enter a new year

Numbers 6:22-27
22) The LORD said to Moses,
23) "Tell Aaron and his sons, 'This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:
24)'The LORD bless you
and keep you;
25) the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
26) the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.'"

- Prayer Requests:
Pray that God will forgive the peoples of BiH for the wars and shedding of blood in the past. Pray that the people will come to a true repentance. Pray that people will come to understand the heaviness of their sin before God.
Thursday 4
- Daily Scripture:
James 2:14-26
14) What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him?
15) Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.
16) If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?
17) In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18) But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.
19) You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
20) You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?
21) Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
22) You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.
23) And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend.
24) You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
25) In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction?
26) As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
- Prayer Requests:
Pray that the believers in BiH will live and act in accordance with what they believe and proclaim.
Friday 5
- Daily Scripture:
2 Chron 7:14
14) if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Daniel 9:1-19
1) In the first year of Darius son of Ahasuerus (a Mede by descent), who was made ruler over the Babylonian kingdom-
2) in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the word of the LORD given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years.
3) So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.
4) I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed: "O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with all who love him and obey his commands,
5) we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. 6) We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
7) "Lord, you are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame—the men of Judah and people of Jerusalem and all Israel, both near and far, in all the countries where you have scattered us because of our unfaithfulness to you.
8) O LORD, we and our kings, our princes and our fathers are covered with shame because we have sinned against you.
9) The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him;
10) we have not obeyed the LORD our God or kept the laws he gave us through his servants the prophets.
11) All Israel has transgressed your law and turned away, refusing to obey you. "Therefore the curses and sworn judgments written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against you.
12) You have fulfilled the words spoken against us and against our rulers by bringing upon us great disaster. Under the whole heaven nothing has ever been done like what has been done to Jerusalem.
13) Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth.
14) The LORD did not hesitate to bring the disaster upon us, for the LORD our God is righteous in everything he does; yet we have not obeyed him.
15) "Now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of Egypt with a mighty hand and who made for yourself a name that endures to this day, we have sinned, we have done wrong.
16) O Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill. Our sins and the iniquities of our fathers have made Jerusalem and your people an object of scorn to all those around us.
17) "Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, O Lord, look with favor on your desolate sanctuary.
18) Give ear, O God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy.
19) O Lord, listen! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, hear and act! For your sake, O my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name."

Thursday 25
- Daily Scripture:
Romans 2:1-11
1) You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.
2) Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth.
3) So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment?
4) Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance?
5) But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed.
6) God "will give to each person according to what he has done."
7) To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.
8) But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.
9) There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile;
10) but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
11) For God does not show favoritism.
John 3:13-21
13) No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.
14) Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
15) that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.
16) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18) Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
19) This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
20) Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
21) But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." - Prayer Requests:
Pray that the church will fulfill its prophetic role in warning the world about God's coming judgement as the final consequence of persevering in sin and to proclaim the mercy of Christ inviting people to salvation

9) He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.
10) His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of a man;
11) the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

13) for he strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you.
